Mission Statement

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTH ME.@ PHIL 4:13

The V. Lindsay SDA School exists with the view that, by the grace and help of the God, all children can learn and be successful. Our institution therefore seeks to provide opportunities for our students to arrange their priorities so that they might realize first the Kingdom of God. This life direction will enhance the quality of life now, provide society with God-fearing leaders, and develop within students Christ-like characters that are unique possessions for success in this life and eternity. The ordering of priorities will encourage the pursuit of balanced educational excellence in spiritual commitment, physical development, mental training, and social interaction Each member of the faculty and staff, in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, is dedicated to encouraging students to develop a love for God that is expressed in unselfish service, self-discipline and a better understanding of Biblical principles by which to make decisions for the accomplishment of both academic and spiritual excellence.

PHILOSOPHY

The V. Lindsay SDA School provides Christian education for students in grades Pre-K through 8th. We believe that every member of the constituency of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church is responsible and morally obligated to support our school. The purpose of Christian education is to aid in the restoration of divine power in humanity. Such a restoration involves the development of the whole person, spiritually mentally and physically. In compliance with the beliefs that give support to Seventh-day Adventist education, the V. Lindsay School is dedicated to the fulfillment of one great purpose in cooperation with divine agencies. That purpose is Ato restore in man the image of his Maker. To bring him back to the perfection to which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind and soul, that the divine purpose of his creation might be realized.@ Ed. p. 15, 16

HISTORY

The V. Lindsay Seventh-day Adventist School, named in memory of Elder Von Goethe Lindsay, was established in August of 1986, in Kansas City, Missouri. Elder Lindsay had a vision to establish a Christian school that would meet the spiritual and educational needs of boys and girls in the Kansas City metropolitan area. For over 25 years, the V. Lindsay Seventh-day Adventist School has provided a safe and positive environment for the children that attend.  It has also served as a host site for Freedom School.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We are committed to promoting academic excellence in all curricula areas.  We believe that the primary objective of this school is to give each student an opportunity to reach his/her highest potential in this life and to be prepared for their life with Jesus.  When we prepare them for their life with Jesus, they become productive members of their communities, witnesses for God and active workers in their local churches.
